You are Worthy my Friend. By Matt Scott
(A letter to a close friend but a message for all)
My friend,
You have worth and value, the likes to which you are unaware. You have a special in my heart carved out for you alone. Your unconditional love and friendship has meant more to me than words can express. We were united in a time of darkness and confusion. A time of desperate searching for the longings of our souls. A time of excavating and resurrecting dead and buried hopes and dreams. And most of all a time of great loneliness to which those gaping holes we'd fill with most anything, right or wrong.
Our friendship has been tried and tested, and ran through the forge of true temper, only to emerge a steel of amazing strength and fortitude.
Time after time we have spoken of love, life and loss-desires, hope and of change. Many times we pushed and manifested change rather than wait upon the Lord and came up desperately short. In our emotionally charged impatience we willed a false reality into existence just to feel something other than complete and utter disappointment in the life we ourselves created.
Somewhere along this sojourn of discovery, we stopped believing in the worth and value that our Father in Heaven ascribed to us. Our worth and value has hung on the words and actions of others and has made our entire countenance susceptible to the shifting of another human being's words and emotions. We've dressed the way we believe others will approve of, strive for a look that others will be attracted to, hammer at our bodies in the gym to achieve a temporary result to get the attention of others more than for the reasons of health and daily do little things purely based on what we perceive others will think or say. When did we get caught up in the great deception and away from our destiny? When did we trade the words of our God, Who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow for the words of double-minded and unstable people to sustain our spirits? No wonder we are so depressed, melancholy, confused and dying slow and horrific deaths from stress related diseases.
Only Jesus can give us life, and life more abundantly. Our Heavenly Father will never leave nor forsake us. He loves us with an everlasting love. He has a good plan and purpose for our lives, a plan to prosper and not to harm us. His strength is made perfect in our weakness when our minds are stayed on Him.
After a massive heart transplant, and complete cataract surgery, if you will, hind-sight is clearly 20/20. This only attained through pressing into the heart of God through worship, complete submersion in the Word of God, complete submission to Him and releasing and repenting of control of my life, which is but an illusion regardless. All this in conjunction with spending a season alone, just God and I, to know thyself again after years of allowing the media and others to tell me who I was. I can honestly say after that process (which you must want more than anything you ever have) I am truly free for the first time in my life. Free of the cares and desires of this world. Free of needing validation and edification from man or anyone other than God. Free to be who I am and not what others think I should be. Free to do what God leads me to do and not what others lead. Free to be OK with someone not agreeing with me all the time. Free to love the difference and uniqueness of others and their opinions and views. Free to not have to be the one always speaking but rather listening. Free to not have to always be right. Free to not always have to defend myself nor explain my position. I'm free to exist how God made me and to be just as unique and eccentric as I am even if that bothers someone else. Others are bothered and irritated simply because they aren't free yet.
God is working in you to bring you to this very same state of being right now. Often tragic and uncomfortable events are allowed in our lives to wreck us to the point that we are so broken that the only place left we can turn is to Jesus. We will let go of Him long before He lets go of us. Painful though it is, that is a wonderful place to be because freedom and deliverance is just on the other side should we press in to God. Be violently sick and tired of circling that same mountain so that you come off of it once and for all.
You cannot find all God has for you or your purpose until you completely die to self and submit your dreams and desires to Him. It is impossible to fill a cup that is already full. It is only when you've given or lost everything that you can truly find life more abundantly. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL things will be added to you. He will give you better than what you could ever attain in your own power. Taste of His goodness, submit control of your life to God and watch the miraculous happen in your own life.
My friend you have a spirit that touches everyone it comes in contact with for their betterment. You are one of the people who has touched me to the core with your genuineness, kindness and love. You love others beyond what most have the capacity to, even after those very same people have let you down and betrayed you in the worst possible ways. You truly demonstrate Christlike forgiveness. You have greatness in you and I know that when you are free of all the things that have so deeply wounded your spirit, you will change the world and leave behind a rich legacy for generations to come, should the Lord tarry in His return. You have the ability to touch a person so deeply that they are forever changed just by you being who you are. You pour out Witt and intelligent humor and light up a room when you enter. You are a romantic of old, the likes of which the world rarely see's. Your dreams and visions are much too large to be suppressed by the worlds demands. The world needs your dreams and visions manifest for its own sake. You are beautiful inside and out and your presence is highly desired and sought after.

My friend you are worthy and need prove yourself to know one. Your value is inestimable and those who don't see it don't see themselves. Jesus loves you with a love I cant fathom but I love you with a love the world doesn't fathom. The same kind of agape love that King David and Jonathan shared. The unconditional love of an unconditional friend.
I am here to walk this life with you and to help carry you over any of bridges that may be crumbling as you make your way across them.
We as friends as Christians should be more available and receptive to those in our sphere of influence when they have need even when times get trying and inconvenient for us.
Never let people with no self-worth or value steal the genuine worth and value you have. Don't spend your strength on people who will rob you of your destiny. When the world tells you that you cant, love will tell you that you can.
You are worthy and I love you and you deserve much better than what you've settled for. Never settle but rather set the standard and never bend on your standards.
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Matt
